ACL Student Benefits has a full-time opportunity for a
Student Service Coordinator (SSC) at the Domestic/International Student Benefit Plan Office (BPO) at George Brown College in Toronto. ACL Student Benefits is a provider and administrator of domestic and international student benefits and mental health programs for universities and colleges across Canada, with its head office in North York, ON. The international brand, ACL/Morcare, provides George Brown College with both domestic and international student plans.
This is a salaried position with full benefits and participation in RRSP program after 3 months employment. This position is full time (Monday – Friday) and the office locations will be at George Brown College campus located 200 King St. East, Toronto, ON, M5A 3W8 and 160 Kendal Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5R 1M3, travel to other campuses is required when needed. Comprehensive training and support will be provided, both virtually.
Key Responsibilities of this position include:
- Act as the main point of contact for international students in-person, telephonic and/or Live Chat, providing information or assistance related to the international student benefit plan, which will include assisting with claims, applications, and other plan related administration.
- Process family plan applications and travel validation confirmation documentation.
- Manage and resolve domestic and international student member complaints or issues.
- Identify and escalate priority issues.
- Route calls or soft-transfer internally to appropriate resource, when necessary.
- Provide follow up communication to domestic and international student members, when necessary.
- Partner with internal teams in the provision of supporting domestic and international student members.
- Establish strong relationships with local medical centres and hospitals.
- Communicate and provide assistance to medical health providers, when necessary.
- Provide client support representing our brand at events such as orientations and interact with international students at such events.
- Support our programs and initiatives on campus and raise awareness of all coverage programs and services on campus through our student marketing and awareness strategy.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need:
- A positive attitude and well-developed listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities, highly proficient in written and verbal communication (in English/other languages welcome) and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Appreciation of the importance of providing dedicated service, accurate information and managing work relationships in a positive way.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams; ability to learn new systems
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Prior experience in a contact centre or customer service environment.
- Knowledge of group insurance is beneficial but not required.
