Implementation of a Fracture Liaison Service at Providence Healthcare
The Musculoskeletal Health and Outcomes Research unit is currently looking for a Research Coordinator II. In this position, the individual will perform research activities involving study administration, project design, data collection, and summarizing or analyzing data.
Providence Healthcare is assessing the feasibility of implementing a fracture prevention program (Fracture Liaison Service) to patients admitted with a fragility fracture to Providence. The program will assess, treat, and follow patients with fragility fractures. The Research Coordinator II will adhere to research protocol and work with the Investigator and a Fracture Prevention Coordinator to carry out various aspects of developing the Fracture Liaison Service at Providence Healthcare.
This is a remote (WFH) position, requiring 1-2 days (up to 10 hours) of work per week. The project may take up to 4 years.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Submitting the Research Ethics Board application and maintaining the REB renewals
- Ordering patient charts, and organizing and managing pre- and post-FLS charts
- Data extraction and data entry for the outcomes pre- and post-FLS
- Follow-up calls and data collection at 6 and 12 months (Candidates may have to work with Language Line when collecting the 6 and 12 months outcome data)
- Scheduling and attending meetings, and meeting regularly with the members of the project team
- Assist with data collection forms and data entry for the project
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, OR demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience
- Familiarity with medical/healthcare terminology.
- Experience with navigating ethics boards and grant funding applications.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience, and database software.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines, punctual.
