Your responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees on a timely basis, including data entry, calculations, and verification of timesheets and deductions
- Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing in accordance with federal and provincial regulations, including tax deductions, statutory deductions, and benefits administration
- Respond to payroll inquiries from employees regarding pay, deductions, and tax-related matters
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as required
- Maintain payroll records and employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including issuing T4 and other relevant tax documents
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data and compliance with company policies
- Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices
Your qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced unionized environment
- PCP Certified or in progress
- 3 years’ experience with ADP WFN and Oracle
- Strong understanding of Payroll, HR, processes, and data, including CBA agreements and benefit procedures
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications
- Ability to exercise good judgement in high pressure, sensitive situations
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Strong time management skills
- Intermediate MS Office skills
