Intermediate Accountant (BC Based - Fully Remote)

We are seeking an Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience with a similar accounting position, know and apply accounting principles and practices, as well as have proficiency in Quickbooks. We are a small company and growing, so the position requires someone that is comfortable wearing a lot of hats and helping to establish processes where they don't exist! Lots of room for growth!

Responsibilities:

Prepare, review and maintain financial records and reports
Auditing information and submitting financial reports
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Managing financial activities such as general accounting and cash flow
Maintain the accounts receivable (AR) ledger, monitor and maintain up-to-date records for client accounts, and follow up on overdue payments
Maintain accounts payable (AP) ledger, set up suppliers, and reconcile company credit card expenses
Payroll, filing tax returns and acting as an audit representative
Month-end close process, prepare, monthly, ad hoc, and accrual journal entries
Prepare monthly reconciliations of the general ledger accounts, and investigate discrepancies
Process bank transactions (e.g. EFT, wire payments)
Prepare financial reporting and ad hoc financial analysis as required
Other accounting and administrative duties as directed by the managing partners
Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
Utilize Quickbooks to manage financial transactions

Skills:

CPA designation with 2-3 years of work experience in a similar position
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail to report financial issues
Research, problem-solving and analytical skills to understand and interpret financial data
A strong work ethic and keen attention to financial and accounting details
Developing and maintain relationships through ongoing communication
Staying up-to-date with the latest financial and accounting trends and software
Proficient in English (Mandarin is an asset)

Hours are 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday and is fully remote, although this person must be legal to work in Canada and preferably live in British Columbia, Canada. You must hold a valid Canadian CPA designation and compensation is based on experience.

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
